John Thomas Howell

John Thomas Howell, affectionately known as JT, was born on March 20, 1953, in Pittsburg, Kansas. He passed away on April 2, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 72.

Educated in Kansas City, he graduated from Northeast High School in 1971. His formative years shaped a strong foundation, instilling values of diligence and integrity that he carried into adulthood. John was a dedicated and hardworking individual, embarking upon a career that included notable positions at First National Bank in downtown Kansas City, Quik Trip and later Wal-Mart. His commitment to his work and community was evident throughout his life.

On November 2, 1974, John married Janice Bliss, embarking on a loving partnership that would last a lifetime. He is survived by his wife Janice Howell; children Christopher(Heather) Howell, Ruth(Marcus, Deceased) Jackson, David(Kelly) Howell; brother David Brown and sister Laura Howell; grandchildren Caleb, Alexander, Ryan, Taylor, Rex, Stella, and Myra.

He was preceded in death by his mother Magdalen Brown, father Herschel Howell and Son-in-Law Marcus Jackson.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life during a visitation on April 11, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM. Both events will be held at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, located at 1640 N State Route 291 in Liberty, Missouri 64068. All are welcome to attend.
