John Von Holt passed away peacefully at his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, on November 19, 2024, surrounded by love. Born on May 26, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, John was the beloved son of Virgil and Margaret Von Holt.
John spent his early years on Myrtle Street in Northeast Kansas City, where he attended high school and met the love of his life, Theresa. Their shared roots on Myrtle Street blossomed into a beautiful marriage in June 1983. Together, John and Theresa built a life filled with love, laughter, and family, raising their three cherished children: Jennifer Begulia, Johnny Von Holt, and Gia Von Holt.
In 1991, John and Theresa made Lee’s Summit their home. They created countless memories, from celebrating holidays with loved ones to exchanging thoughtful gifts year-round. Their love for one another shone in every detail of their lives, whether enjoying serene nights by their pool or cultivating vibrant gardens filled with flowers.
A man of unwavering dedication, John began his 43-year career at Layne at the age of 23, where he earned countless accomplishments and formed lifelong friendships.
John also loved the outdoors, spending cherished years at the Lake of the Ozarks with his brother, Mark, and family, as well as enjoying trout fishing trips on the White River in Arkansas. His passion for gardening and maintaining a beautiful yard and pool was a testament to his hardworking spirit and love for creating beauty. A lifelong NASCAR enthusiast, John shared his passion for racing with his brother Mark, and he was always busy with projects that reflected his pride in his work.
John is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Theresa Von Holt; daughter, Gia Von Holt; and parents, Virgil and Margaret Von Holt, along with several dear in-laws he held close to his heart.
He leaves behind a loving legacy through his children, Johnny Von Holt and Jennifer Begulia; sons-in-law, Steven McEwen and Craig Wartick; brother, Mark Von Holt, and sister-in-law, April Von Holt; sister-in-law, JoMarie Everhart; treasured grandchildren, Mary Theresa, Sam, and Rose Begulia; along with great grandchildren, and many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Services to honor John’s life will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 3106 Flora Ave, Kansas City, MO 64109. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by the Rosary at 9:30 AM and a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, MO 64138.
John’s steadfast love, hard work, and enduring kindness leave an indelible mark on all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty he created in life.
