Patty Shanks Johnson

Patricia "Patty" Lynn Shanks Johnson, 70, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospice House surrounded by family.

Patty was born March 2, 1951, in Independence, MO, the third of eight children of Charles L. Cashatt Sr. and Mamie L. (Keith) Cashatt. Her parents preceded her in death. She grew up in Kearney and graduated from high school there. Patty spent several years of her adult life in the Carthage, MO area where she made many friends. She returned to the Clay County area in 2020.

Patty leaves her children, Todd Shanks (Robin, deceased), Stacy Rule (Matt) and Chad Shanks (Mandy); grandchildren, Alison Rule, Matthew Rule (Rylie), Cameryn Shanks, Clayton Shanks, Noah Shanks and Joey Shanks; great grandson, Koa Rule; siblings, Sharon Wheeler (Steve), Charles Cashatt Jr. (Pat), Debbie "Gracie" Beeman, Rhonda Elliott, Diana "Gail" Crain, Daniel Cashatt Sr. (Debbie) and Annette Massey; as well as many nieces, nephews other family members and friends.

Patty was a devoted caregiver...always making herself available for family and friends. She was an amazing cook, loved mushroom hunting and was the family photographer at every event. She was loved and will be missed by all.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Patty's life at 6:00 pm, on Friday, May 7, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel , I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 8, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge, MO. Memorials are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice House.
