JoNelle Robertson

JoNelle Robertson passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 in Bethany, OK. JoNelle was born on October 20, 1931 in Maysville, MO to Zallie Porter Reece and Nelle Kathleen Reece. She graduated from Maysville High School and attended business college in St. Joseph, MO where she worked for the gas company.  She met the love of her life Samuel W Robertson in St. Joseph and awaited his return from the Korean War to be married. They lived in Liberty, MO for over 43 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She worked in the home raising their three children, Teresa Kathleen, Patti Jo and James. They spent their retirement years in Bartlesville, OK enjoying time with their four grandchildren, gardening and antiquing to collect glass baskets. She was also an avid KC Chiefs fan.

 After Sam’s death, JoNelle moved to an assisted living facility in Bethany, OK where she thrived until her passing. She loved deeply, was kind and servant hearted. She was an encourager to those close to her and strangers alike. She loved Jesus with all her heart and her joyous laughter expressed His delight as well.

 JoNelle was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Porter Verlin Reece and sister Shirley Ann Reid; Sam, her husband of 70 years; and their daughter Teresa Kathleen Montoya.

 JoNelle is survived by her daughter Patti Jo Dodrill, Springdale AR, her son Jim Robertson and his wife Janet Robertson, Oklahoma City, OK, and four grandchildren: Emma, Carter, Hope and Elijah Robertson along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

 A remembrance service will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, February 17, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Private burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Liberty.
