Lois Gearldine Jones

Lois G. Jones, 82, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019. A visitation will be held from 10-11AM, followed by funeral services at 11AM on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64138. Burial will follow services in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Donations may be given in Lois’ memory to The Alzheimer's Association.

Lois was born Friday, October 1, 1937, to Jesse Monroe and Cordie Mary (Wilson) Williams, in Richland, Missouri. She attended Richland High School, where she graduated in 1955, was a cheerleader, majorette, played volleyball and piano. Throughout her working career, Lois worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri (1956-1962); the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City, Missouri (1962-1971); a Tax Preparer for Mr. Tax, Raytown, Missouri (1976-1981); and Church Secretary at Southside Christian Center Assembly of God Church, Kansas City, Missouri (1982-2001 retired), where she was also a longtime member.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Jones (1996) and son Carl Tanner, Jr. (1980). She is survived by daughters Carla Tanner Gowin (Gary), Glenna Jones Furrell (David Wertenberger) and Gayla Jones Faelske; grandchildren: Jessica Woodson Sommer (Steve), Jenna Beth Brownlee, Jordan Furrell (Aimee), Cassie Furrell, Janssen Faelske and Janner Faelske; great-grandchildren: Braedyn and Landyn Sommer, Allie, Haylee and Mia Brownlee, and Harper, Holland and Hayden Furrell; sister Peggy Stevens and brother Darryl Williams, and sister-in-law Helen Boren. Lois will be greatly missed.
