Judith “Judi” M. Perry (Carver), 83, passed peacefully on October 3, 2024.
Judi was born on March 17, 1941 in Plymouth Township, Pennsylvania to Miles and Marie Carver, the youngest of four. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1959. In an era where many young women married soon after graduating, Judi, who always had her own mind, joined the United States Army. Upon completing her military service, she found herself in Washington D.C., where she worked in the Missing Persons section of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. While in Washington D.C., she met her future husband, Jeff as he and his friends moved out of the apartment she and hers were moving into. Ever the planner, she “forgot” a clock so that she had a reason to come back. Demonstrating his romantic prowess, Jeff met her at the curb, saying “you forgot your clock”. Fortunately, it all worked out. She kept him on time for the next 48 years. The couple had two children, but she influenced countless others as she looked after innumerable kids in the neighborhood and was the creative ringmaster and facilitator of countless memories for her kids and all their friends. All of them became family. Judi went on to become a librarian at Quindaro elementary and later at Park University, where she influenced countless others with her sharp intellect, quick wit, and willing ear.
Along with her parents, Judi is preceded in death by her husband Jeff, her sister Eileen Hoeffner and her brother Frank Carver. Survivors include her children Myles Perry (Marsha) of Platte City, MO and Melissa Pearce of Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren Spencer Pearce (Shohna), Brandy Pearce, Braeden Perry (Chandler), Kendall Perry (Tyler), Carson Perry and Emerson Perry along with great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends. All would “rise up and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28
Most importantly, Judi knew Jesus and had placed her faith and trust in Him as her Savior. With that confidence, she entered His presence and no doubt heard Him say, “Well done”.
