Daniel Alan Jurgensen

Daniel Alan Jurgensen, 67, of Liberty, MO, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO with family at his side.

Dan was born February 14, 1953, in Fort Dodge, IA, the second of four sons of Richard and Mary (Wesley) Jurgensen. He graduated from Albia High School in Albia, IA, in 1971, and enlisted in US Air Force immediately following graduation. Due to vision impairment, Dan received a medical discharge, however proudly remained a member of the American Legion in Albia.

Dan received his Bachelor's degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA, and Master's degree from Park University in Parkville, MO. He worked in sales and marketing of heavy duty trucking equipment for many years before becoming a financial advisor for Edward Jones in Liberty. He worked 15 years as an advisor until his health no longer permitted.

Dan was active in his community and was a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge and served as Commodore of Paradise Point Yacht Club at Smithville, MO. Dan was an avid sailor, spending much time with family and friends on the lake.

Dan was united in marriage to Kristine Marie Sulentic on September 16, 1972. They raised a son, Patrick, and daughter, Katy. Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Mary, and son, Patrick.

Dan leaves his wife of 47 years, Kris; daughter, Katy Woolworth (Jared); grandchildren, Norah Woolworth, Weston and Nickolai Jurgensen; brothers, John (Judy), Ted (Janet) and Matt Jurgensen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm Saturday, June 6, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Luke's Hospice House or to the K.U. Cancer Center.
