Kathy (Deatherage) Niemeyer,78 Born March 2, 1947 passed away after a short illness on March 29,2025. Kathy was born in Kansas City Missouri to Clyde and Dorothy Deatherage. Kathy lived in Independence most of her life. She was a graduate of Truman High School Class of 1964. Kathy worked at Hallmark Cards for a while and then got married and stayed home to take care of babies. She went back to work at the Sports Complex, then worked at Ameristar Casino from the time that it opened until retirement.

Kathy met the love of her life in March of 1973 at a birthday party, her brother Kenny introduced his friend Bob to her. In May of 1973 they were Married. From this union she had 3 Amazing Daughters. Who then gave her the most treasured part of her life GRANDBABIES to them She was “Grandma Bubbles” and to her children Amazing.

Kathy and Bob have a EPIC LOVE STORY, they were travelers in the best way possible, Kathy was the world's best navigator telling Bob Turn Here. In the years that they were together they took many dirt roads and off Highway stops and in 50 years saw all 50 States Together. They also have visited most of Canadian Pro. When asked about what was her favorite trip she said “All of Them, because we were together”

Kathy was an amazing friend, she loved everyone that she knew. She meet her “bestie”Sandra when they were only 9 years old. They had fun trips and traveled a bunch too. Almost 70 years of Friendship, shows what an Amazing Friend she was.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Dorothy and 1 brother Kenny.

She is survived by the “Love of her Life” Bob married for 51 years. 3 Amazing Daughters Beth(Chris) Daley, Sandie(Josh) Schneider, and Amanda(Jeff) Scarlett. 7 Beautiful Grandkids Katelynn,Kaycee,Emily,Ethan,Taylor,Tiffany and Bret. A Brother Jack Deatherage and Sister Sharon Crowder, Her Best Friend Sandra Bogue. Many nieces and nephews who loved Aunt Kathy and many special friends and other loved ones.

The family will have a private graveside service at a later date. Kathy will be interred in the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery

Any donations can be made in Kathy’s name to ST.Judes Childrens Hospital.
