KEVIN LAYTON

HUMBLE, GIVING, WITTY, HARDWORKING, GENEROUS, CARING, FAITHFUL, LOYAL, RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, SUPPORTIVE, HONEST, PROTECTOR, COURAGEOUS, BLESSED, KIND HEARTED, JOYFUL AND FUN!

Kev lived life by three guiding principles:

  1. Always do the “right” thing…there is right and wrong in life and nothing in between…he always chose right even if it was a sacrifice
  2. Bring others joy… a laugh, a caring shoulder, an extra hand, a listening ear, a personalized nickname to show he knew you
  3. Unwavering faith in God… there is God, Angels and prayers guiding every step, every decision

Hard worker all his life… starting at age 7 cleaning bathrooms at his father’s gas station for a nickel. A business owner, a gifted athlete, pilot, songwriter, singer and master of many musical instruments.  However, his sole purpose in life was to “bring joy” to others…

  • Mentoring young people by teaching them to “hustle”
  • Helping employees when they were “down on their luck”
  • Providing a father role and safety net to nieces, nephews, and all those who needed a guiding hand
  • Listening with a non-judging ear to people’s daily challenges with carefully crafted advice… but, only when asked
  • Seeing the best in people and bringing out all of their good traits…no matter the person
  • Identifying all the blessings in his life and others
  • Bringing his sharp wit and laughter to all his friends and families

Always, always, always, giving, and giving more and giving even more to others, but never wanting any credit or fanfare.  Family, friends, and employees were constant recipients of his generous heart.  And, through partnering with the great Father Pat Tobin many years ago, Harvesters became recipient of Kevin’s constant giving…

Annually donating trailers full of hams at Christmas and increasing his personal donation goal every year

Kev was cheered on to heaven July 13th by his wife Karen Layton, who is a better person for being touched by a true angel on earth.  He is now jamming with his brother Kerry… and his dad Al and mother Helen smiling proudly

Kevin Layton quote: “I am truly blessed, God is in control” and “never, never, never give up!”
