Kevin D. Marshall, Sr.

Kevin D. Marshall, Sr., 69, passed away August 1, 2023.  Kevin was born January 25, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri to Thomas J. and Kathryn (Edwards) Marshall.  After receiving his high school diploma, Kevin joined U.S. Army and served two years in Vietnam. He was later discharged due to medical reasons.

Kevin married Debbie DeFelice in 1975.  They were married 23 years, and had five children together: Kevin Marshall Jr., Frank Marshall, Sheralyn Landers, Felicia Marshall (Sheralyn's twin passed away at birth) and Joshua Marshall.  Although all five children were born in Kansas City, the family spent a large part of those years in Florida.  All but Frank, who lives near Seattle, have moved back to the Kansas City area.

Kevin worked in numerous fields for a variety of reasons.  He worked in Customer Service because he enjoyed interacting with people. He worked in Sales because he was a storyteller and sold himself to people on a daily basis.  He also worked in Culinary Arts because he always loved cooking and was really good at it too! 

Kevin LOVED decorating for the holidays. He especially enjoyed Christmas and  Halloween.  MAN!  He was all about it!  Clark Griswald BAD!  He loved fast cars, especially early 90's Chevy Camaros and had a green ‘93 he adored.  Kevin had a green thumb and enjoyed growing plants. He loved cooking and could make an amazing meal with or without the right tools or ingredients. He could cook like a chef or make something AMAZING out of Chef-Boyardee!  Kevin could fix anything. He loved his duct tape, zip ties and superglue. He didn't have a lot, so what he did have had to last!

Most of all, Kevin loved his family.  He adored his kids and grandkids. He was so proud of what they accomplished and how they all stuck together.  Kevin also loved his dog Coco Bean (Coco). They became very close friends over the last year and a half.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Kathryn Marshall; father Tom Marshall; sister Sheralyn Walker; brother Terry Marshall; brother Keith Marshall; daughter Felicia Marshall; and the mother of his children Debbie DeFelice Marshall.  Survivors include his son Kevin Marshall, Jr. and his wife Christie Marshall; son Frank Marshall; daughter Sheralyn Landers and her husband Mike Landers; grandchildren Amelia Smith, Bailey Marshall and her fiancé Alec Horine, Mathew Landers and Autumn Landers; sister Kim Jackson; brother David Marshall; his beloved dog Coco Bean (Coco); as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of North Kansas City Hospital.  THANK YOU SO MUCH for the exceptional care and compassion every person showed and shared with our father during his stay! It was felt EVERY DAY!!!

Memorial services will be held 1PM, Friday, August 11 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to his memorial fund, which will be used to purchase a memorial headstone.  A link will be provided soon.
