Nancy Kathryn King

Nancy Kathryn (Hatcher) King, 74, a longtime Pleasant Valley, MO, resident, joined her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2019. She passed away peacefully at home with family at her side. 

Nancy was born June 2, 1945, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Page) Hatcher. She was united in marriage to Nolan Reid King on June 1, 1962 at Second Baptist Church in Liberty, MO.  Along with being an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker, Nancy cared for children in her home for more than three decades. She was a 53-year member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Along with her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Katie Reed; and sister, Patricia Hopkins.  Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Nolan; children, Diana Ferry (Alan), Danny King (Shelly), Laurie Hewitt (Rob Karnes), Jonathan Reed (Sarah) and Sarah Engle (Jared); grandchildren, Halle Hewitt, SR(USN) Reid King, Harrison Hewitt, Emily King, Kate Engle, Adelyn Reed and Hudson Engle; siblings, Mary Thomas, Fred Hatcher, Bobby Hatcher and Debbie Christiansen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Nancy's life at 11:00 am, on Monday, December 23, in the chapel at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 North State Route 291, Liberty.
