Tammy Ann Kinney

Tammy Ann Kinney, 52, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Friday, October 18, 2019.  A visitation  will be held from 4:00—6:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 26, at Park Lawn  Northland Chapel, with services celebrating Tammy’s life at 10:00 a.m., on Sunday, October 27 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Tammy’s memory may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society online at: www.nationalmssociety.org

Tammy was born on Monday, May 29, 1967, to Samuel Glenn Milligan and Lois Ann (Feigly), in Kansas City, Missouri.  She graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School.

Tammy married the love of her life, Brian Christopher Kinney, on Saturday, October 15, 1988.

Tammy’s career in Human Resources spanned over 25 years and in many capacities, working for Sprint, Overland Park, Kansas (1989-2000); Hallmark.com, Kansas City, Missouri (2000-2001); Sprint Nextel, Overland Park, Kansas (2001-2007); Embarq, Overland Park, Kansas (2007-2008); and most recently at Black & Veatch, Overland Park, Kansas (since 2010), as a Human Resources Project Manager (since 2015).

Among her passions, Tammy enjoyed vacationing and spending time with those she loved.  Above all, Tammy treasured her family and dear friends the most.  She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend with a bold and true servant’s heart.  If Tammy loved you, she told you like it was—truth in love.  She impacted the lives of so many and will greatly be missed.

Tammy is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Milligan, stepfather, Ralph Walters and father-in-law, Edwin Kinney.  She leaves her husband of 31 years, Brian C. Kinney; children, Hailey R. Gomez (Jorge Luis), Tyler C. Kinney (Abigail K.); grandchildren, Isaiah and Mia; mother, Lois A. Walters (Samuel Parisa); brothers, Allen Glenn and Chad Glenn Milligan;  mother-in-law, Barbara Jean Kinney; sister-in-law, Kathy Kinney; brothers-in-law, Bryce Kinney (Tracy) and Barry Kinney.  Tammy also leaves many other relatives and friends.

Service Information:

Visitation:  4 PM – 6 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 North MO Route 291 Hwy, Liberty, MO–just west of I-35 on the south side of NE Cookingham Drive (across the street from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church)


Memorial Services:  10 AM on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Park Lawn Northland Chapel
