Gary W. Kirrane

Gary Wayne Kirrane, 63, of Liberty, MO, passed away May 17, 2018, following an auto accident in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday, May 23, and a service celebrating Gary's life will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, May 24, all at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 pm Thursday at Clarks Chapel Cemetery near New Franklin, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Rescue Project (animal rescue) therescueproject.net or the Liberty Police Officers' Association (for the benefit of Liberty Police and Fire first responders), 101 East Kansas Street, Liberty, MO 64068.

Gary was born February 11, 1955, in Kansas City, MO. He was raised in New Franklin, MO and graduated from New Franklin High School in 1974. Gary was united in marriage to Karla Porter on June 16, 1979. They lived in Boonville until moving to Liberty in 1995.

Gary was employed at Wilson's Meat Plant for several years. He was hired on to MKT Railroad and ultimately advanced to working as an Engineer for the Union Pacific until he retired in 2008. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, working on cars, and spending time with his family. He also had a passion for classic cars and was a member of the Kansas City Camaro Club.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, RJ and Edna Falgout; parents, Ernest Kirrane and Ann Walker; sister, Karen Hendrickson; and step-sister, Beverly Tank. He was also preceded in death by his beloved golden retriever, Zoey.
Survivors include his wife, Karla; daughter, Kayla Trulson, (Jerry), and their daughter Bellamy; daughter, Krista Kirrane (Scott Emery); nephew, Chris Hendrickson and family; cousin, Jim Brewster and family; step-sister, Toni Linhart (Melvin); as well as other family members and many friends. Gary will be greatly missed by all and will be remembered for his giving spirit in death as an organ donor.
