Walter Kovak

Walter Kovak, 93 died of natural causes on April 5, 2020 in the comfort of his home in Kansas City, MO. He was born on October 22, 1926 in Toledo, OH. Walter graduated from Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio and St. Mary’s College in Orchard Lake, Michigan where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and 1947 Class President.

Walter shared a beautiful love story with Becky Jewel for 30 years. One of Walter and Becky’s greatest accomplishment together were their involvement with a Self-Help Group for over 30 years holding multiple board positions and positively impacting many lives. Walter successfully ran a Home Improvement Business and working up until his passing.

Walter was a loving father, partner and friend. He set a great example to his family and those around him in his constant display of kindness and he is greatly missed.

In addition to his parent he was preceded in death by his brother and sister. Surviving in addition to Becky are children Steve Kovak and wife Heather of Missouri and their 3 children; Mike Kovak and wife Sherry of Georgia and their four children; Donna Wrinkle and husband Brad of Missouri and their two children.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence, MO at 10am Friday, June 26; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
