Tyler John LaMasters, age 24, of Independence, Missouri passed away on June 12th, 2021 at his home. He was born June 6, 1997 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Timothy LaMasters (TJ) and Jennifer LaMasters. He graduated high school at Blue Springs South High School in 2015 and studied Computer Programming/Computer Science at Colorado State University.

On top of being a student, Tyler was a hard-working server at Texas Roadhouse. He also worked with DTF Enterprises for the Royals and Chiefs games for the past 8 years. He was such a hard worker that he also drove for Uber and delivering food with DoorDash. Tyler also loved technology and had many different gadgets. During his free time, he was always passionate about developing his own apps. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Traveling brought him joy throughout his life.

Tyler is survived by his parents Timothy LaMasters (TJ) and Jennifer LaMasters; his older brother Timothy LaMasters Jr. and wife Morgan LaMasters; as well as his younger brother Tanner LaMasters. He also leaves his granddad John Swanson and Papa Don Brassfield. He is survived by his close cousin Pamela Ratzlaff, and husband Kodee Ratzlaff and their daughter Tessa.  He is leaving his aunt Penni Swanson, her children and grandchildren.  Tyler also leaves his girlfriend Brenda Reyes. Lastly, he left his only nephew Asher LaMasters, who he loved and adored, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Tyler was preceded in death by his grandmother Marilyn (Sue) Swanson whom he was very close with, three aunts Gloria Palmitier, Sheryl Jones-Schwartz, and Nancy Meier; and his uncle Denny LaMasters.

Funeral arrangements and services will be held at Park Lawn Funeral Home located at 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Kansas City, MO 64138 on Thursday, June 17th. Visitation will be 9am-10am with the funeral immediately after at 10am. Graveside services will follow. Details on a lunch afterwards will be shared shortly. Anyone who wishes to attend for any duration of time is invited and very welcomed to do so.

In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in Tyler’s name. The family is also accepting donations to help cover funeral expenses at https://gofund.me/00236822.
