Daisy L. Lancaster, 103, departed this life on November 10, 2022. She was born on October 17, 1919, in Hope, Arkansas to Alex and Lue Birda Lancaster. Her parents, grandson, Michael Brown, sisters Dorothy Collins, Addie White and nephew Henry Williams all preceded her in death.
She received her education in the Oklahoma Public Schools. Later in life she relocated to Kansas City, Missouri with her two sons Chester Parks Jr and Michael Rae Parks.
Her career included several different employers. She was a licensed beautician. Early on she was employed at WDAF FOX 4 as a maintenance worker. Eventually changing employment and becoming an elevator operator at the Kansas City Professional Building until retirement. Daisy later started a 3rd career working at Baptist Hospital where she retired once again after 30 plus years. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. Daisy was a member of Starlight Missionary Baptist Church and a devoted member of the usher board.
She leaves to mourn her passing: two sons, Chester Parks Jr and Michael Rae Parks, both of Kansas City MO; granddaughters, Francesca Parks, Monique Brown both of Kansas City, MO; Falicia, Carter, Phoenix, AZ; grandsons Christopher Hasley, Kansas City, MO; Raymone Parks, Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren Kymari Parks, Legend Parks, Kamathi Parks; special niece Deborah Williams, Kansas City, MO; and a host of other nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be 9AM, with services to follow at 10AM, Saturday, November 19 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
