Theo Lang, Sr. departed this earthly life peacefully in his sleep at home on Sunday, February 13, 2022. He was born in Dover, Oklahoma December 12, 1931, to Alfred and Carrie Lang. Both parents, a son, Wardell and brother Leo Lang preceded him in death.
Theo went to elementary school in Dover, Oklahoma, he graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kansas. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He became a member of Shalom Baptist Church and served as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Henry Pace for twenty-five years.
On May 22, 1951, Theo married Marceline McGee, to this union ten children were born. This union was dissolved in 1972. In 1979 he married Janice Jefferson and with this union came a bonus daughter, Lonzetta Toliver. Theo and Janice were married forty-two years.
After graduating high school, Theo worked at KU Medical Center for seventeen years. He also worked at St. Joseph Medical Center in housekeeping and finally, the Federal Reserve Bank where he retired as a Mechanical Engineer in 1994. Theo also had his own lawn service on the side.
Theo leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Janice, six sons, Jerry (Glyndia) Lang, Theo (Rose) Lang, Jr., both of Kansas City, MO, Warren (Carla), Lang, Marietta, GA, Maurice (Raynita) Lang, Pleasant Hill, MO, Michael (Regina) Lang, Raytown, MO, Bruce (Shawn) Lang, Lee’s Summit, MO, three daughters, Katherine (Jerry) Harris, Mineral Springs, AR, Christlena (Matthew) Lockhart, Paula Lang, both of Raytown, MO, Lonzetta Toliver, Raytown, MO, sister, Ollie Clark, brother, Tony Lang, both of Grandview, MO, favorite niece, Debby (Gary) Ballard, Lee’s Summit, MO, sister-in-laws Rita Williams and Audrey Wooden, brother-in-laws Lonnie Thomas and Boris Wooden, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, fifteen great-great grandchildren, other relations and friends.
Visitation will be 10AM, with services to follow at 11AM, Saturday, February 26 at Shalom Missionary Baptist Church, 3621 Paseo Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
