LARRY LEROY MERRIMAN

          Larry Leroy Merriman, 66, of Kearney, MO, passed peacefully on April 13, 2024, at NorthCare Hospice House.

          Larry was born April 10, 1958, in Richmond, MO, the youngest of three children of Eugene and Mattie (Garner) Merriman. Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his step-fathers, Douglas Schroyer and Kenneth Greer. Larry was married to Beth Pilbeam, and they were blessed with one son, Bryant Leroy. 

          Larry spent most of his younger years growing up in Liberty, MO, graduating from Liberty High School in 1976.  He attended Central Missouri State in Warrensburg, where he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.  He established L.M. Rock Bolting in Liberty, a business he operated for many years until retirement.

 He began perfecting his hunting skills as a young boy with his BB gun on the banks of the Missouri River and was a passionate hunter and fisherman for the rest of his years. One of his greatest joys was sitting beside his son in a deer stand.

 Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Bryant and Jennifer Merriman; grandchildren, Mason, Mackenzie, and Miles; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carroll and David McQuerrey, Paula and Don Hibler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Larry’s life at 11:00 am, on Friday, April 19, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Burial will follow in the Valley Memorial Gardens in Grain Valley, MO.
