Laura Jane Davis

Laura Jane Davis, age 94, passed away June 11, 2024. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 18 , at 2:00PM. Family will receive friends at the funeral chapel beginning at 1:30PM. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Jane was of Protestant faith. She was a seamstress and sewing instructor for the children’s clothing wear company, Chocolate Soup.

Was a member of the group AJoy, who would meet together for dinner and entertainment. She enjoyed decorating for every holiday, but especially Christmas. She had Christmas trees in every room of the house including both bathrooms. Going to Plaza Lighting ceremony was a favorite way to start the Holiday season. She collected clocks. Specifically clocks that chime. Her home sounded like a cathedral every 15 minutes. Additionally, Jane collected Department 56 ceramics and had 3 curio cabinets full of the highly sought after villages. 

Her skills extended to the kitchen as well with one of her daughters continuing to brag about what a good cook she was.

Jane was preceded in death by her spouse, Lloyd; 4 children, 4 brothers, 3 sisters; and 1 grandson.

Survivors include: 4 daughters, 2 brothers, 1 sister, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
