Arlene Marie (Overly) Lewey, 73, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2019, at St. Luke's Hospice House with family at her side. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Arlene's life at 2:00 pm, on Friday, June 21, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Private burial in Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the City Union Mission.
A native of Pricetown, Ohio, Arlene was born June 1, 1946, the middle of three children of Elton A. and Ellen Nancy (Buckmaster) Overly. She worked many years as a Claims Examiner for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Following her retirement, Arlene and her therapy dog Dusty visited many locations to visit and provide companionship to the elderly and homebound.
Along with her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Harold "Hal" Lewey. Survivors include her sons, Mathew Saul and Brad Saul (Kelly); grandchildren, Storm, Samara, Attecus, Landen and Jennifer; brother, Butch Overly; sister, Rhea DeSchepper; other family members, including Hal's family; and friends, including her best friend Lynn Tester.
