LILA MARIE MOYER

          Lila Marie (Ketchum) Moyer, 92, entered her Heavenly Home on January 27, 2024, at Oak Pointe of Kearney, MO. She passed away surrounded by loved ones.

          Lila was born June 26, 1931, at home on a farm near Poplar Bluff, MO, the youngest of three children of Ira E. and Nettie (Moxley) Ketchum.  She was united in marriage to Yewell Albert Moyer on June 18, 1949, in Piggot, AR, and they were blessed with two children, Brenda and Larry.  

          Lila was a talented seamstress and worked many years in the garment industry. She also loved to cook. Following retirement, Yewell in Lila moved to the Table Rock Lake area where they were members of Roaring River Baptist Church in Eagle Rock, MO.  They moved to Kearney in 2001, where they joined Tryst Falls Baptist Church.  Lila attended First Baptist Church of Kearney after Tryst Falls closed.  

          Along with her parents, Lila was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Yewell; grandson, Jacob Moyer; and brother, Robert Ketchum and his wife Mary.   

          Survivors include her children, Brenda Cobb (Lee), and Larry Moyer (Cheri); grandchildren, Belinda Moore (John), Richard Cobb (Michelle), Lynette Fletcher, and Jessica Moyer Griffin (Justin); nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.  She also leaves a brother, Curtis “Harry” Ketchum (Billie), as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

       Visitation will begin at 11:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Lila’s life at 12:00 noon, on Monday, February 5, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Kearney, 303 South Grove Street, Kearney, MO. Private interment at Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the City Union Mission (Donate to City Union Mission).
