MARY “CLAUDINE” LINDSAY

Mary “Claudine” Lindsay, 81, of Carbondale, Kansas, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021, at Winter Meadow Homes of Carbondale. A visitation will be held from 11 AM-12:30 PM, Friday, March 12, 2021, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Graveside services will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.

Claudine was born Wednesday, September 20, 1939, to Mildred and Edward Bitzer, in Independence, Missouri.  She married Theodore Lindsay Jr, July 10, 1979; they had two children.  Claudine graduated from Lee’s Summit High in 1958.  She worked 30 plus years at York Bow and Arrow Factory.  Claudine retired from Higginsville state center for the mentally challenged around 2010.  She volunteered for the Grandparents Program in Higginsville, Missouri before moving to Topeka, Kansas in 2015.

Claudine is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Lindsay Jr. (2006); parents Mildred Oxley and Ed Bitzer Sr.; brothers Ronald Bitzer, Ed Bitzer, Don Bitzer and Tom Bitzer; granddaughters Kristin Couch and Melanie Couch. She is survived by her children Darlene Boxx and spouse Ben of Berryton, Kansas and Joe Lindsay of Clinton, Missouri; sisters Barbara Oxley of Lebanon, Tennessee and Millie Mansel of Lee's Summit, Missouri; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
