Carol Jean Grace Lindstrom

Carol Jean Grace (Westerdahl) Lindstrom, 92, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away Friday, August 9, 2019. Carol was born on Christmas day 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri. While working at Folgers and attending the First Covenant Church, she met Edgar K. Lindstrom and they married in 1949. During their 59 years together Carol and Ed served the Lord as the pastoral “team” of Covenant Church’s in Alert, Clay Center, Manhattan, Wichita, Lindsborg and Marquette Kansas, as well as Wausa, Nebraska. Although Carol was considered a “homemaker” raising seven children, she was at the same time an instrumental part of the churches they served, taking on any necessary roles. Carol was well known for her hospitality, her friendship and her smile. She never met a stranger and there was always room at her table for one more plate.

Carol is survived by 6 of her children Sharon Ensz (Marshall), Paul Lindstrom (Leslie), Peter Lindstrom (Christina), Ruth-Ann Lindstrom, David Lindstrom (Patti) and John Lindstrom (Karin) as well as 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar K Lindstrom, her oldest son, Mark E. Lindstrom (Patti), her sister, Lorraine O’Brien and brother James “Bud” Westerdahl.

Funeral services for Carol Jean will be 10:00am, Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Park Lawn Funeral Home. Family will receive friends beginning at 9am. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
