Lloyd W. C. Enke passed away on April 13, 2023 at the age of 93. He was born to Carl F. Enke and Francie M. (Stork) Enke on September 27, 1929. He was the second of three brothers and one sister.
On December 31, 1950, he met the love of his life, Shirley M. Gray, and they were married on November 3, 1951. Together they had three sons. He was a loving, caring, and giving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was adored by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, both brothers and their wives, his sister and her husband, one granddaughter and two stepbrothers.
He is survived by his sons: Timothy and his wife Tracy, Mark and his wife Robin, Matthew and his wife Rhonda; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one stepbrother’s wife, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was very active in his Church and Boy Scouts. He earned the Lutheran Adult Religious Award – Lutheran Lamb. He was registered in the Boy Scouts of America for over 60 years. During that time, he assisted and guided a multitude of boys and young men through Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and on to earn the Rank of Eagle Scout. Among the Eagles are his three sons, four grandsons, and three great-grandsons. He was a member of the local Honor Camper Program named Micosay. He earned the rank of Honorary Warrior with responsibility of Sachem on the Tribal Council.
He retired from South Western Bell Telephone Company after 37 years. He was a lineman and then a cable splicer.
He served over 39 years in the Missouri National Guard. He served in a Medical and a MP unit. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to various cities to attend the National Conference for the Guard. He made several new friends while attending the conferences.
