Mike Walker

LLoyd Raymond "Mike" Walker, age 85, passed away October 19, 2024. 

Mike was born on November 3, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Bud Walker and Edna (Rhumes) Walker. He graduated from Manuel High School, and married the love of his life, Anna Belle Bridges, on March 7, 1958. To this union were born two sons, Michael and Joesph.

Mike began work on printing presses. He then spent over 30 years of his career as lead carpenter, with the Kansas City School District.

Mike enjoyed playing and watching sports throughout his life. He played softball with his co-workers from the school district. He and Anna were avid bowlers. He was a family man who loved trips to his parent’s place at the Lake of the Ozarks and early morning fishing trips with his grandkids. He was compassionate towards animals and had a soft spot for his dogs. He was a hardworking, loyal, likeable man who will be missed by so many.

Mike is survived by his son Michael (wife Donna) Walker and his son Joseph Walker; grandchildren Courtney Klenklen, Kyle Walker, Paige Walker, and Lindsey Walker; great-grandchildren Beckham, Asher, Ali, and Kennedy. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years Anna Belle Walker, in 2020; father Bud Walker; mother Edna Brown; brother Jim Walker; brother Bill Walker; brother Bud Walker; and sister Shirley Vaught. 

It was Mike's directive that private services be held in his memory.
