Lois Jeannette (Tompkins) Henehan, aged 89, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, in Belton, MO. Born on June 18, 1935, in Utica, MS to H.B. and Mary (Brown) Tompkins, she was the 6th of 9 children. Lois dedicated her life to her family and her passions.
Lois was the cherished matriarch of her family, deeply loved for her nurturing nature and creative spirit. She found joy in the simplicity of gardening, transforming her backyard into a vibrant oasis that mirrored the warmth she extended to everyone around her. Lois's artistic talents were most vividly expressed through her fabric arts, a skill she lovingly passed down to her daughter and grandchildren, affectionately known as her "grands."
She leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity through her son, Phil (Mary) Henehan, and daughter, Suzanne (Dennis) Douglas, along with 14 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish her memory. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "Jerry" Henehan, and sons, Douglas and Gregory Henehan.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 2, 11am to 1pm, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138, where family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Lois are welcome to gather in remembrance of a life beautifully lived.
