Jimmie Carlton Loomis, 92, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri. The family will have a private ceremony at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas. Memorials and contributions are suggested to beatcc.org.

On October 27, 1928, Jimmie Loomis was born to Oda and Wayne Loomis in Toledo, Ohio. He moved to Casper, Wyoming with his family as a young child and Later served in the Navy in 1945. After his service, he came back to Casper, Wyoming and married Kathryn Schierenberg on June 1, 1951 and they celebrated 70 years of marriage together. They had two children: Sheryl and Debbie. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Wyoming, California, Arizona, and then to Missouri to be with family.

He worked at Northern Utilities and later with Kinder Morgan. He had a passion for golf and snow skiing. After retirement he was active in square dancing and antique cars. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling.

He was very active in his church and was a deacon at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Oda Michie and Wayne Loomis; brothers, Tommy Loomis and baby Eugene Loomis. He is survived by his wife Kathryn Loomis; brother, John Michie; daughters, Sheryl (Steve) King and Debbie (Mike) Beaverson; grandchildren, Misty Hill, Matthew (Alexa) Beaverson, and Max (Bailey) Stoneking; great grandchildren, Kaitland, Dustin, and Braiden Hill, Jerod Beaverson, Lydia, and Zoe Beaverson.

He is now with Jesus!
