Kathryn C. Loomis

Kathryn Carol Loomis, 91, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, in North Kansas City, Missouri.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, November 17, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. An interment committal for the family will follow at 2:30 pm at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

On July 24, 1931, Kathryn Carol Schierenberg was born to Adolf and Anna Schierenberg in Salt Creek, Wyoming. She lived in Wyoming where she married Jimmie Loomis on June 1, 1951. They had 70 wonderful years of marriage. Kathryn and Jimmie had two daughters, Sheryl and Debbie. Throughout their marriage they lived in Wyoming, California, Arizona, and then Missouri to be with family. She did ceramics with Sheryl and made porcelain dolls with Debbie and Misty.   Being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was what she loved most. Hanging out with family, going to baseball games, dance activities, parks, board games and playing cards brought joys to her life.   She enjoyed square dancing and boating. She had a small sailboat and would sail all around Alcova Lake. She was a wonderful mother, grandma and great grandma, she was loved by her family, and will be greatly missed.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother, husband Jimmie Loomis, and her daughter, Sheryl King. Survivors include her daughter Debbie (Mike) Beaverson; son-in-law, Stephen King; grandchildren Misty Hill, Matthew (Alexa) Beaverson and Max (Bailey) Stoneking; and great grandchildren, Kaitland, Dustin and Braiden Hill, Jerod, Lydia and Zoe Beaverson.

She is now with Jesus!
