Margaret was born on September 13, 1928, to Christopher Kessinger and Edna (Chamberlain) Kessinger in Donellson, IL. She passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025
She attended and graduated from Hillsboro Community High School with the class of 1945.
She married James E. Simmons on May 22, 1948. They later moved to the Kansas City area in 1953. Three children were born from this union, Constance, Larry and Sheryl.
Margaret's work life included working as a Cafeteria monitor at Gladstone Elementary School for several years and she worked as a seamstress making clothes and wedding gowns.
Margaret enjoyed sewing clothes for her family in her younger days. She also loved to collect cardinal figurines and Elvis memorabilia. In her later years she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister. Her husband James Simmons and her daughters Constance Simmons and Sheryl (Simmons) Campen.
Survivors include her son Larry Simmons of Tampa, Fl, granddaughter Denise (Campen) Smith of Wentzville, MO, granddaughter Sara (Campen) Brown: 6 great granddaughters and 3 great-great granddaughters and 1 great-great grandson.
