Marilyn (Coy) Dean

Marilyn (Coy) Dean of Lee’s Summit, MO was born in Kansas City, MO to Edgar and Frieda Coy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Kenneth Coy of Kansas City, MO.

Marilyn grew up in Garden City, MO and upon graduation from Garden City High and UCM in Warrensburg MO., Marilyn was employed by the Social Security Administration working there for 40 years in various positions. This employment gave her the opportunity to live throughout the country including Washington DC, Kalamazoo, MI, Santa Barbara, CA, Seattle, WA, Denver, CO, and Kanas City, MO.

After retiring from Social Security, Marilyn worked five years at UMKC as an Instructional Technologist teaching faculty to use computer programs in creating and revising teaching plans.

She is survived by her spouse, Robert Dean, her brother, Charles Garton Coy and his wife Else both of Washington, MO and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A reception and remembrance service will be held at a later date.
