Marion Assumpta Zampa (Glass), aged 83, passed away on December 3, 2024, in Liberty, Missouri. Born on September 6th, 1941, in Malta, she immigrated to the United States in 1947, settling in Detroit, Michigan, with her family. Marion was a beacon of love and dedication, revered as a mother, grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 4, sister, and particularly as a teacher for 42 years, where she fulfilled her passion for educating children.
Marion's life was characterized by her deep faith and participation at St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, Missouri. She cherished dancing, watching crime shows, and being with family. She is survived by her brothers, Vic and Hank; sisters, Yvonne, Rose Marie, and Irene; her children, Gil (Siobhan), Danita (Jim), and Michael (Candice); and her grandchildren James (Alex), Nick, Khalene, Daniel, Hannah, Jeremy, Kiersten, and Ian. Marion was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret, and her parents, Michael and Stella.
Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM, with the funeral mass at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 14, 2025, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 2201 S. Old U.S. 23 Highway, Brighton, MI 48114. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Committal of her ashes
will take place at 2:30 PM, at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery 25800 W 10 Mile Rd, Southfield, MI 48033.
