Candelaria Martin

Candelaria “Lala” Pacheco Barbosa Martin, 95, passed away March 26, 2022.

Lala was born February 2, 1927, in Kansas City, KS to Fernando and Marta (Perez) Pacheco. Lala was married to Louis Barbosa Sr in 1950 having one son, Louis Barbosa Jr. Lala Worked a long career with Southwestern Bell as a supervisor, where she retired. She enjoyed watching the Kansas City A’s, Royals, and Chiefs. She married Alfred Travis Martin in 1985; the pair enjoyed traveling together.

Lala is preceded in death by her son Louis Barbosa Jr, brother Victor, sisters Clementina, Conception “Concha”, Luz, Mary, first husband Louis Barbosa Sr, second husband Alfred Travis Martin. She is survived by her sister Beatriz, daughter-in-law Susan, grandsons Joseph (Lisa) and Michael (Tia), great-grandchildren Brett, Luke, William, Jaxon, Candelaria, Mia, stepchildren Travis Jr, Christine, Terri, seven step-grandchildren, and many extended family members.

Visitation will be 9AM, with services to follow at 10AM, Thursday, March 31 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Lobb Cemetery.
