Donald E. Martin

October 13, 1949 — June 26, 2022

Donald Edward Martin, born October 13, 1949, passed from this world, on June 26, 2022, at the age of 72. He was born to Carmen (Cellier) Martin and Russell Martin in Kansas City, Missouri, and they preceded him in death. Also, preceding him in death are his step-dad, Herb Stevens, and an infant brother, Dennis Martin. He leaves behind to honor his memory and remember the fun times - a sister, Barbara Wischropp and brother-in-law, Doug Wischropp; nephews, Jon Spahr (Katie), Jeff Spahr, (Nikki), 3 great-nephews, Ben, Elliot and Jack Spahr, a daughter, Dawn Rea, and a grandson, Logan Rea.

Donnie was a very free spirit, experiencing to the fullest, all the highs and lows that life threw at him. He spent much of his life pursuing adventures and chasing the next potential meaningful experience. He travelled around the country and spent a few years in Alaska, working at Denali State Park.

He will be remembered for his wonderful, endearing sense of humor, his intelligence, and his quick wit. He had a favorite nickname for each of his loved ones, which we will always hold dear. He was an avid reader, very well-informed on most any subject, and could discuss in detail many topics from sports to current events.

He was very much a unique individual, somewhat of a rebel, but could turn on the charm and caring ways when needed. He was hard-nosed, obstinate, generous, loyal, and a crossword puzzle expert (like his mother). He will always be known by his family, especially his nephews, as one of the “October Boys.”

He brought much joy to many of the family holiday gatherings, enjoying beyond measure, family, food, and festivities.

He will be missed!
