Mary Adelaide (Wetmore) Tanck, 90, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at her daughter's home in Allen, Texas. A visitation is scheduled from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM, Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church, 8240 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City, Missouri 64138. Funeral Service will be at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Memorials and contributions are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church.
Mary was born on November 26, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa to George Benjamin and Charlotte Adelaide (Huse) Wetmore. She was married to John Frederick Tanck on February 11, 1950. They were married for 56 years. She cherished her role as a homemaker and mother to her nine children. She loved to sit in the morning sun, drink a cup of coffee and visit with family and friends. Mary was happiest when she was surrounded by her family and especially when she could hold the newest baby. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church since 1970 and faithfully read her Bible and continuously prayed for her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; grandson, Kevin Tanck; sisters, Joanne Bell and Virginia Peterson; and brother James Wetmore. She is survived by her nine children and their spouses, Doug Tanck of Raytown, MO, Carol Northcutt and husband Joe of Allen, TX, Cindy Lanham and husband Bill of Kansas City, MO, Steve Tanck and wife Cindy of Fargo, ND, Patti Pounds and husband Tim of Eureka, MO, Jeff Tanck and wife Karen of Sioux Falls, SD, Pam Tanck of Santa Clarita, CA, Laurie Behnfeldt and husband Craig of Fort Wayne, IN, and Greg Tanck and wife Sheila of Overland Park, KS; sister, Pat Arnold of Sioux City, IA; brother-in-law, Charles Tanck and wife Betty of Sioux Falls, SD; 24 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
