MARY ETTA WENDLETON

 

          Mary Etta Wendleton, 76, a Kansas City Northland resident, passed away March 17, 2024, at NorthCare Hospice House.

          Mary was born December 13, 1947, in Sedalia, Missouri, to John and Betty Ruth Baker.  She grew up and lived most of her life in Independence, MO, graduating from Truman High School. Mary also worked for the Independence school system and then went on to work for Kendra Company in Independence.  She retired from Dr. Ed Kavanaugh Orthodontics.  

          Mary was a member of Patchwork Chapter of the ABWA and the Clown Alley in Kansas City.   Mary truly loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Her favorite part of serving was in Primary and helping with missionaries.  

          Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Willis O. and Betty Ruth Hayes; grandmother, Mary J. Watts; and niece, Alisha S. Huffman.  Survivors include a brother and sister and spouses: Bill and Rhonda Hayes, and Tony and Debbie Huffman; three nieces and their spouses; and six great nieces and nephews.

          A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday April 13, at the Jackson Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5550 North Jackson Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64119. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, MO.
