Mary M. Williams

Mary Magadeline (McGill) Williams was born to Robert G and Erma McGill on June 2, 1932. Mary was raised in and lived in the Kansas City, MO area throughout her life.

Mary M. McGill and Harvey A. “Joe” Williams Sr. were joined in matrimony. That union was blessed with nine children.  Harvey preceded her in death after 32 years of marriage on October 12, 1982 after a lengthy illness.

Mary dedicated her life to serving others. As she raised 8 children of her own, she mothered many nieces and nephews. She went to school and obtained her Nursing Degree. Worked in every hospital in the Kansas City metro area. Many of those years were spent at her favorite Childrens    Mercy Hospital. She operated and ran her own daycare for many years  caring for and teaching numerous children. She did private duty nursing for elderly family members and friends. She was always there when someone was in their last moments of life to pray and assure them they were going to a place of glory. She made it seem so calm and peaceful for family members as much as anyone. She was always known to the family as the Lord’s Angel, always helping someone find their way to Him.

Mary leaves her brother Herschel L. McGill. Her sister Hattie L. Williams, brothers Vernon McGill and Edward McGill all proceeded her in death. She leaves 8 children, Wanda L. Craig, Harvey A. Williams, Jr (Linda), Sharon M. Hunt, Karen J. Cushenberry (Brian), Michael A Williams, Teresa A. White (Frank), Dwayne A. Williams, and Marilyn D. Williams. Daughter Florance Williams died in infancy. She leaves 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9AM, with services to follow at 11AM, Tuesday, February 20 at Sheffield Family Life Center, 5700 Winner Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.
