Akemi Massey

Akemi (Strutton) Massey, 65, of Kansas City, MO, passed away September 9, 2019, at North Kansas City Hospital with loved ones at her side. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Akemi's life at 2:00 pm, on Monday, September 16, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.

Akemi was born September 24, 1953, in Tokyo, Japan. the eldest of seven children of Gerald Strutton and Toyoko Kanamori Strutton. She moved with her parents to the U.S. at age five. Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, James Massey; children, Jennifer Shelley (Eric), Michael Massey and Zach Massey; six grandchildren; siblings, Dale Strutton (Becky), Aleta McEneny (Phil), Dana Strutton (Laura), Jackie Proctor (Tim), Dean Strutton (Wanda) and Don Strutton (Elizabeth); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Akemi’s life at 2:00 pm, on Monday, September 16, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.
