Sharon Yvonne (Turner) Matheny

Sharon Yvonne Matheny, 68, of the Kansas City Northland, passed away January 5, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospice House with loved ones at her side.

Sharon was born December 21, 1954, in Pleasant Valley, MO, the daughter of Junior Blackwell Turner and Barbara Gertrude Jeanne O’Nelson Turner.  She was united in marriage to Robert Wayne Matheny who preceded her in death in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dal “Butch”Miller, Doniphan Gary Turner and Walter Turner.

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey Matheny (Carolina), Gary Matheny (Angela) and Heather Matheny; grandchildren, Julian Banuelos, Sofia Banuelos, Vicente Matheny-Banuelos, Alando Matheny-Banuelos and Rafael Matheny-Banuelos; siblings, Bonnie Galyean, Patricia Fish and David Turner; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, followed by a service celebrating Sharon’s life at 10:30 am, on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.  Committal service will follow at 1:00 pm, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
