Tom was a graduate of Crystal Lake Central High School and the University of Illinois-Champagne/Urbana, where he was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity.
Tom's career began with Seaquist Closures in Crystal Lake, a job that would eventually take him to Connecticut, Wisconsin and England. He then took a position with ConAgra Foods in Omaha. For the past 11 years, Tom worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City.
Tom loved baseball. He was a fourth generation, lifelong Cubs fan, and while living in Kansas City became a Royals fan as well. But what Tom loved most was watching his two children, Ben and Bryn, participate in the sports they loved - swimming and baseball. Tom was Ben's first baseball coach.
