Marcine June Spillman Mayse, “Marcie”, 95, passed away September 9, 2021. Marcie was born on March 1, 1926 to William Bryan and Ada O. (Smith) Spillman. She grew up on a farm in Kincaid, Kansas and completed high school. Upon graduation, she left the farm and lived in a boarding house in the Westport area and attended business school.

She went to work at Electrical Magneato which was across the street from the Triangle Café, now called Crown Center. This is where she met her husband of 51 years, Johnny. They lived in Raytown, Missouri much of their married life until the late 90’s and then moved to John Knox Village. Marcie loved to play Bingo, enjoyed walking, exercise, watching the birds out her kitchen window and flowers. She enjoyed car rides around James A. Reed Wildlife Center to see nature, flowers, and anyone fishing.

Marcie was preceded in death by her husband John, her sister Willa Dean Crowell (J.T.), her brothers and sister in law Freddie and Lyle (Dorothy) Spillman, her parents Bill and Ada Spillman and her son in law Steve Koeller. She is survived by her daughter Sherri; sister in law Patsy Spillman; nieces and nephews Ronnie Spillman (Daisy), Randy Spillman (Deena), Kelli (Murv) Morehead, Marla (Dane) Wilson and Mike Spillman; and several great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:30AM-11:30AM, Wednesday, September 15 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; 11:30AM graveside service to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
