Donna Marilyn McAdams, 83 of Laurie, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on February 22, 2021. She was born June 19th, 1937 to Inez Edith (Anderson) Warren and Floyd (Red) Otis Warren in Kansas City, MO. Mom married the love of her life, Donald Paul McAdams on June 2, 1956. Being a mother of 5 sons kept her busy and strong in spirit. She was our biggest cheerleader. She was a loving mother. When mom started her career with United Parcel Service in October 1975, she started in the phone center. She became a trailblazer for women at UPS and shattered the “Glass Ceiling” in an era when that was rarely the occassion. During her continued success at UPS, she took on many special assignments throughout the country and in 1986 she went to Switzerland when UPS opened their new location. She was devoted to family and friends. She had a giving heart, usually unbeknownst to most. She mentored many people throughout her life professionally and personally. She had a thirst for adventure. She always had a trip in the works. Mom retired from UPS corporate in Atlanta GA to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1998. She enjoyed the tranquility of lake life when she wasn’t traveling somewhere. She loved to cook, garden and shop. She loved to be with family and friends. When needed, she could “rally the troops”. She was the matriarch of the family. Most of all, she believed in doing or having what makes your heart happy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Donald. She is survived by five sons, Michael (Linda), Kansas City, MO, Matthew (Barbara Jan), Columbia, MO, Mark (Betty), Sunrise Beach, MO, Mitchell, Laurie, MO – Alisha Rose-McAdams, Liberty, MO, Morgan (Cheryl), Talking Rock, GA; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
