Paul Douglas Mcarthur

February 8, 1972 — July 29, 2019

Paul passed away July 29 at the age of 47. His loving sons were by his side as he surrendered to his battle with cancer.

He was born in Kansas City, Mo and lived in the area all of his life. He was preceded in death by both parents, James W. McArthur Sr. and Delores J. McArthur.

He leaves many loving family members behind. Two sons Bradley McArthur and Matt McArthur. Paul was so proud of his sons and the terrific young men they have become. Three sisters, Veva Brooks, Debbie Richardson (Joe), Sandy King (Gary) and a brother Jimmy McArthur (Roberta). Paul was the youngest of this family of five and had much wanted and unwanted “motherly and fatherly” advise from his older siblings. Paul has numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Paul worked for the Carpenters Union in Kansas City. He was very skilled with any type of construction or handy man work. He loved to fish as often as he could and got his sons interested in this hobby. He was a local sports team enthusiast. Watched the Chiefs and Mizzou Tiger football. He was a member of the Richie’s Club in KC.

A visitation/celebration will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Gate #1, KCMO, from 1pm to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, his boys would enjoy old photos of their dad and any special memories you can share.

Many thanks to Debbie & Joe Richardson for taking care of Paul over the past year as he fought the good cancer fight. Thank you to Kansas City Hospice House for their wonderful facility and excellent caring staff. Also thank you to Jenny Brennan for your support at this crucial time and being there for Brad and Matt as they work through their grief.
