Mace McBride Jr. was born December 15, 1938 in Drew, Mississippi. Both parents preceded him in death with one brother.

In 1958 Mace (June) came to Kansas City, MO. Where he met Ruby in 1965. On September 30, 1967 they married. Through this union two children were born; Christina Renee McBride and Mace Dennis McBride. In Kansas City he was employed with Rockhurst University for 36 years. Where Mace retired from in the Spring of 2001.

Mace was born and raised in the Baptist Church. In 1985 the whole family (Ruby, Renee, and Dennis) converted to Catholicism. He was an active member of St. Louis Catholic Church up until June of 2019 when he became ill.

Mace loved to be outside. He enjoyed thrifting and restoring furniture. He liked to sit in the garage where family and friends often came to visit (when the garage door was open). Mace’s favorite restaurants were Gates barbeque, Houston’s, and Go-Chicken-Go. His favorite snacks was beer and skins. He also loved pecans and peanuts in the shell.

Throughout the years Mace always supported his family and friends. He always spoke encouraging words and gave hope no matter the circumstance. He was truly blessed.

Mace is survived by his wife Ruby McBride of 51 years, his children Christina Renee Lee (Cornell), Mace Dennis McBride, and Vickie Paige (Irvin). Also 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
