Robert Lee McFarland, 95, passed away August 29, 2020. Robert was born February 10, 1925 to Roy and Tin McFarland of Stanley, Kansas. He graduated from Stanley High School and entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 at the age of 17. Continuing his education in later years, Robert graduated from UMKC in 1971. He was an active member of the RLDS church serving as an elder. He later served in the RLDS Restoration movement. Robert served as a pastor for many years at the local Raytown and Bannister Ridge congregations as well as the Hermitage and Cross Timbers branches in southern Missouri.

He was employed in the construction business, having been in the L 27 union for 50 years. He also served as a business agent for that union.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Finis.  He is survived by his daughter, Kathi Munholland, and his son, Gary McFarland. “Bobbie” was blessed with four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandsons. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to your local church’s missionary fund or your favorite charity.

A memorial service will be held at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, MO on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Due to Covid restrictions, it will be limited to family members. However, all are welcome to meet at the chapel at 10:45AM for a processional to the graveside for closing remarks and visitation with the family.

Gary, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your father. He lived a long life and you were fortunate to have had his love and inspiration all these years. I know his spirit will live on in the goodness that is you. The memory of my own dad lost long ago continues to guide me each and every day. God Bless
