Shirley A. Mcgaugh

Shirley Ann Walker-McGaugh was born on December 9, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Mack and Alberta Walker. She was the second child born to this union.

Shirley passed from this dimension to another on November 4, 2019. Her husband, Edgar McGaugh; mother and father, Mack and Alberta Walker; daughter, Charnese Wright, and son Anthony Bostic, preceded her in death.

Shirley was a life-long area resident of Kansas City, Missouri. She received her education in the Kansas City Missouri School District. She worked at Lakeside Hospital, Atlas Window Products Drapery Manufacturing Company, American Legion Post #573, and Jimmy’s Steak House.

Shirley was affectionately known as “Momma Shirley” and was admired and loved by all who knew her.

She was a loving mother and always had a heart of compassion for her children. She truly loved her children and grandchildren. She was well known for her generosity and giving spirit to all. Shirley was known to give whatever she had to anyone in need. If you were ever lacking or had a need, Shirley would give you the shirt off of her back or anything she had to help and never looked for praise. That’s how humble she was. Just as she touched each one of us, she will truly be missed and remembered by all who loved her and those whose lives she touched.

Heaven’s gates have opened up as wide as they can for Shirley and GOD said, “Enter in my child, enter into my rest. GOD has Shirley in the palm of his hands and now the mysteries of the universe are revealed to her.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her sister Doris Kemmerer, four sons, Charles Bostic (Gertrude), Richard Bostic, George Bostic, and Clifford Bostic (Janice); three daughters, Francelyn Bostic, Denise Bostic-Woods, and Carnita Thomas, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends of the city.

Visitation will be 930AM, with services to follow at 1030AM, Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
