McGraw, Lee D.

October 11, 1944 — July 17, 2022

Lee D. McGraw, 77, passed away July 17, 2022. Lee was an artist, an adventurer, a world traveler, an entrepreneur, a tinkerer an above average magician, a father and a PapaLee. His children Darla Hennigh, Debra Babich and Max McGraw, his son-in-laws “the Jasons” along with his grandchildren Sawyer and Harper Hennigh and Cooper and Tucker Babich and his little dog and soul mate, Zanie, will miss him greatly. We are comforted at this difficult time that he passed peacefully in his sleep and know that he is now in heaven with his beloved mother, father and brother that passed before him.

McGraw, Lee D.'s Guestbook

Lee leaves a legacy in the real estate world in Kansas City. He "kept the porch light on" during the years that the City was abandoned to the suburbs never doubting the value of urban life. Lee especially loved the Brookside area of Kansas City & founded Brookside Realty to prove it. Lee's vision, of course, was proven right when Brookside was named one of the top 10 zip codes in the US. Always supportive of others, he was a pleasure to have known. My sincerest condolences to the family. May your memories sustain you during these difficult days.

We are honored to have known Lee. He was compassionate, generous, and kind. Lee was especially dedicated to his friendship with our brother, Dr. Z, and showed amazing dedication to help him in his struggles with melanoma during the last years of Carroll’s life. Lee showed wide interest in people and different subjects and will be greatly missed. The entire Zahorsky family offers our most sincere condolences to his children, Darla, Debra, and Max, and their families.
