Earl Leroy Mclaughlin

Earl LeRoy McLaughlin, 73, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2020, at home with family surrounding him.

Earl was born December 14, 1946, in West Plains, MO. He met his loving wife Jeanne in 1964 and they were united in marriage on November 26, 1966. They shared a love that could not be described in words.

Earl's career as a crane operator spanned 25 years at Midwest Terminal. He also worked as an over-the-road truck driver 10 years and following retirement drove a truck helping his son Rocky start his business in 2001.

Earl, fondly known as E-Mac, had the most amazing personality and never knew a stranger. He loved his family and friends more than anything. He had a spirit like no other and he will be truly missed by all. Words can't express how grateful and lucky we are to have had him in our lives.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Zelphia McLaughlin; brother, Harold McLaughlin; and son, Tony McLaughlin.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne; daughter, Lisa Raley and husband Terry; son, Vince McLaughlin and wife Jessica; son, Rocky McLaughlin and wife Christa; sisters: Violet McLaughlin, Doris McGaugh and Kathy Reynolds. He also leaves twelve grandchildren he adored: Darrion McLaughlin, Joshua McLaughlin, Gracie McLaughlin, Maycie McLaughlin, Drew McLaughlin, Vincent McLaughlin, Josie McLaughlin, Michael Gentry, Sammantha Raley, Tyler Raley, Levi McLaughlin and Cody McLaughlin; and great grandchildren: Emmie Lou Gentry, Ava McLaughlin, Tucker Raley and Saylor McLaughlin.

Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday, November 10, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 11, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Excelsior Springs.
