Mary Ellen Michael

Mary Ellen (Knapp) Michael, 64, of Liberty, MO, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2021.

Mary was born October 4, 1956, in Sugar Creek, MO, the daughter of William Knapp, Sr. and Velma Irene (Hirst) Knapp. She graduated from Northeast High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

Mary's career as a Registered Nurse included the past 30 years in the NICU at Children's Mercy Hospital, where she worked until the Sunday prior to her death. She also spent free time gardening especially caring for the countless varieties of lilies in her yard. Mary loved the game of tennis and shared that love with everyone who knew her.

Mary was united in marriage to Archie Washington (A.W.) Michael, III on July 2, 2005. Along with A.W., Mary leaves her children, Andrew Cloyde and Kendal Cloyde; as well as four siblings, their families, and many friends.

A service celebrating Mary's life will be held on Thursday, August 5, at Linden Baptist Church, 611 NE 69th Street, Gladstone, MO, 64118. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm. The memorial service will follow immediately at 7:00 pm.

Two of Mary's passions were her pets (as well as all animals) and crafts of all kinds.
