My condolences to the Atkins family for the loss of a great man and fellow veteran of Desert Storm who I served with. I know him as a stand up guy with a positive attitude. So sad to hear of his passing.

Mike was always about family and being kind, the most incredible big brother i could ever ask for. He was my hero i always looked up to and i knew i could always count on no matter what and he would be there. Mike always loved his family and spoke of wife and children with such pride in his voice, he always did his very best not only in the service but everywhere and was loved by all who knew him. My condolences 🙏.

My condolences to the Atkins family. Mike and I served together during Desert Storm, and had just reconnected this spring and we talked in April. He was a good man, and a heck of a soldier. His tank, B-13, had saved the Task Force 2-70 field trains from a marauding Iraqi tank that had been bypassed during our movement north into Iraqi. Without his and the rest of his crew's quick actions, the entire battalion would have been forced to halt. I was proud to have served with Mike. My prayers go out to you on your loss.
