Miller, Donna Jean

July 12, 1943 — September 13, 2020

Donna Jean Miller, 77, of Overland Park, KS, peacefully passed away on September 13, 2020, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Donna was born in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, KS to Charles and Josephine (née Ruck) Miller on July 12, 1943. She married Roy B. Miller on September 8, 1962, celebrating 58 years of marriage this year.

Donna was a proud mother of five, and those children were her greatest pride and joy. Each of them in turn are beyond proud to call her their mom. Roy and Donna had the purest, strongest form of love that she wrote of in a book she published. Her children feel truly blessed to have witnessed such an amazing love story.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bruce Miller; parents, Charles and Josephine (née Ruck) Miller; brother, Norman Miller; daughter, Christina Miller; and great-grandson, Remington Sellers. She is survived by daughters, Melanie (Mike) Miller-Williamson, Deanna (John) Parker, and Kerri (Ernest) Truitt; son, Mike (Melinda) Miller; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna passed peacefully in her sleep just six days after the passing of her soulmate, Roy. Their family finds comfort in knowing that she is where she belongs: at Roy’s side as they both watch over the beautiful family they created together.

Services will be 3PM, Saturday, September 19 at Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Rd., Kansas City, KS at Shelter 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Donna Miller.
